Prayer for the Week
The church is in prayer for our seniors and for the mass shooting in California and for the many victims of gun violence in our city.
2018 Men’s Day Activities
Sat., Nov. 17 @ 9 a.m. – Prayer Breakfast (Guest speakers include Rev. Quinton M. Herbert, Jr., Min. Alan A. Wallace and Rev. Rickey G. Wallace)
Sun. Nov. 18 @ 9:45 a.m. – Men’s Day Celebration (Guest Proclaimer: Rev. Keith L. Farrar)
The Harvest Rally is Nov. 18 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary. All Sunday School Departments are asked to bring the following:
Nursery/Kindergarten – Cereal/breakfast items and canned fruit
Primary Dept. – Soups and gravies
Primary Junior Dept. – Canned vegetables
Junior Dept. – Canned meats (tuna, etc…)
Junio High Dept. – Rice/pasta
Senior High Dept. – Pasta sauces/boxed dinners
Adult Dept. – Monetary donations (or any of the items listed above)
The Church Family – Monetary donations (or any of the items listed above)
Be prepared to be better building in 2019 by building, strengthening and managing your ministry or auxiliary through spiritual development on Fri., Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. All leaders are expected to attend.
School Daze Sunday
Represent your school or fraternity or sorority on Sun., Nov. 25 during the 9:45 a.m. service.
New Disciples Prayer Breakfast
A celebration will be held for all new members who joined in 2018 on Sat., Dec. 8 from 9:30 a.m. -12 p.m. at the church. All new members are invited to attend.
The Men and Women’s Ministry of Wayland will host their 2nd Annual Christmas party on Sat., Dec. 8 from 5-9 p.m. at the Forest Park Senior Center, located at 4801 Liberty Heights Ave. Donations are $20. Activities include a lip sync battle contest, ugly sweater contest, trivia game and line dancing. If participating in the lip sync battle be sure to dress the part and provide advance notice of your music so the DJ will be prepared.
Children’s Ministry: Children’s Church will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month. The children will stay with parents in the beginning of the service but will transition to Children’s Church after the morning hymn. Adult leaders and volunteers will lead children to the Multi-Purpose Room to ensure a smooth transition. The children will return to the service at 11:30 a.m.
2019 Tithe and Offering Envelopes
Tithes and Offering envelopes for 2019 will be available after the 9:45 am worship services beginning Nov. 25, 2018. To ensure that envelopes are issued appropriately, designated people have been assigned to distribute envelopes on Sunday mornings. Please do not remove any envelopes from the library. You will be notified of the date the office staff will begin distributing envelopes during the week.

Reminder: Media Ministry Requests: Requests for Media Ministry support must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the date services are required. When possible, please use the Media Ministry online request form at www.waylandbc.org/member-resources. Please send all information pertaining to your event/activity with the request. Requests received less than 4 weeks in advance may be denied.
Ordering CDs and DVDs: CDs and DVDs of sermons are available for purchase upon request and payment of $5 per CD/DVD. The Media Ministry asks that you submit your request via the church website at www.waylandbc.org/cddvd-order- form-2 OR complete an order form and drop it in the designated Media Ministry mailbox. Order forms and the mailbox can be found in the back of the sanctuary hanging on the column leading up to the balcony. Orders will be processed and available the Sunday following your request. Currently, CDs/DVDs are not available immediately following the regular worship service.
